GSS Eagles rowers earn medals at National Championship

The Grimsby Secondary School Rowing team earned medals in the Scholastic Rowing Association of America National Championship this weekend, which was held in Camden, New Jersey on the Cooper River.

The Men’s Junior Varsity 4+ consisting of Brett Vilk, Evren Mijatovic, Sean Principi, Lucas Penny and coxswain Taylor Laister came home with Gold. The Women’s Varsity 2x consisting of Aly Derksen and Skyler Goudswaard came home with Bronze.

The Eagles are back at practice for the upcoming 70th CSSRA Regatta held on the Royal Canadian Henley Rowing Course in St. Catharines; over 2,000 athletes from over 125 schools will be competing on June 5, 6, & 7.
