Saturday (Jan. 30) between midnight and 3:30 a.m., unknown culprit(s) gained entry to the fenced in compound that surrounds the Niagara Safety Village and did damage estimated at more than $20,000.
The Niagara Safety Village is a small village made up of a variety of 25 hollow miniature buildings and two safety vehicles (ambulance and school bus).
This village is used by junior elementary children to attend to learn about road safety and is located on the Niagara College Welland Campus.
There was damage to 21 out of the 25 miniature buildings and the two vehicles including a total of 24 broken windows of a variety of sizes, 5 metal doors and damage to a wooden railing.
The culprit(s) also demolished the decommissioned Ambulance and the decommissioned school bus.
