Conrad Black to speak in Grimsby

conrad_blackConrad Black will be coming to Grimsby in December as a special addition to the Grimsby Author’s Series.

Black will be speaking on and reading from Rise to Greatness: The History of Canada from the Vikings to the Present.

A former newspaper publisher, author, columnist, and investor, Black marked his 70th birthday in August.

His latest book traces the nation’s history from 874 – 2014 and has been described as a tour de force.

Chronicling Canada’s first inhabitants, early exploration, war and peace, Black celebrates the achievement that is Canada.

He will be speaking Monday, December 8 at Casablanca Winery Inn, refreshments at 7 p.m., reading at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday, Oct. 6 at the Grimsby Library service desk and are $20 each.

Next up in the regular author’s series line-up is Linwood Barclay reading from No Safe House and Miriam Toews reading from her latest All My Puny Sorrows on Monday, October 6.
