“New” is a key word for Grimsby Basketball Association as it heads into its 20 anniversary season.
New president Kip Donegan said he and his executive are looking forward to moving ahead with many of the initiatives started by past president Jerry Naccarato.
“We have a hard working executive and wonderful volunteer coaches ready to bring the kids of Grimsby, Lincoln and West Lincoln a good season,” said Donnegan.
The GBA will host its second round of registrations at Peach King Arena this week, having already held a session in Beamsville in August.
Anyone who cannot attend one of the sessions can also sign up online at: http://www.grimsbybasketball.ca
Donegan said basketball is a great option for kids since the cost is low for a 21-week season, adding, “the only equipment needed is a good pair of sneakers.”
He noted that average costs for a travel team player is about $450.
As the season progresses, Donegan said participants and community as a whole can check the website for ongoing updates.
“We’ll be celebrating the anniversary by acknowledging the people who had a hand in starting the GBA and continuing its greatness throughout the years,” he said.
