Lincoln Mayor Bill Hodgson confirmed Saturday he will not run for the position to which he has been elected three times.
“Refocus is the word I have been using when talking to people,” said Hodgson, during a break in the festivities at Mike Weir Winery.
“Three terms and 11 years is enough. It is time for some new, young people to step up and show what they can do.”
But fear not, Hodgson supporters. Part of his refocus includes running for Lincoln’s regional councillor position.
“That will allow me to reduce the number of appearances and such, as those things are very important, and I can still get a lot of things done at Region,” he said.
