It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Helen Marie Bell, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at McNally House Hospice in Grimsby with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Ed (William Edward Bell). Sadly missed by her children Duane (Samantha) Bell, Amber (Michael) Sanford, Penny (Glenn) Peters, Edward Bell and Derek Bell. Cherished grandmother to seven wonderful grandchildren Carter and Sydney Bell, Maggie and Sarah Peters, Paighton Bell, Mackenzie and Autumn Bell. Grandmother to her adorable grand dogs, Katie, Stanley and Frank. Sister to Albert (Peg) Hayes and Joe (late Lorraine) Hayes. Sister-in-law to John (Margaret) Bell, Don (Valerie) Bell, Dianne (late Bob) Goddard. She will be missed by her many extended family members and close friends. Predeceased by her parents Margaret and Vincent Hayes and siblings Theresa Gunn, Lenny Hayes and Mary Gunn. Born in Charlottetown, PEI, Helen made the move to Ontario in her late teens where she eventually met her late husband. She made the most of her later years by facing adversity with tenacity and grace. She enjoyed her time at Maplecrest Retirement Village by making many new friends and enjoying games and day trips. Special thank you to the staff of Maplecrest Retirement Village, West Lincoln Memorial Hospital and McNally House Hospice for their love and care for our mother. Cremation has taken place and Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the McNally House Hospice, and would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, GRIMSBY, 905-945-2755.  www.smithsfh.com
